Concert Tour!

I’m very excited for the month of October. Me and my father are taking a trip to New Hampshire to play concerts and speak French like true French Canadians! One of the venues, the Hooksett Library, was where I played my very first concert! You can see my first performance HERE! I was 7 and super cute 😉 I am very excited to be playing there again, it’s been 12 years! We will be playing pieces from our past albums and our soon-to-be-released next albums. I can’t wait to play one song in particular… “Sous La Silhouette” (Beneath the silhouette). The song describes the full moon, shining brightly down upon us. And looking up, the trees are black and without detail. Perfect silhouette in the night sky…

A Season of Inspiration

The past few days have had quite a big effect on me… It might be the atmosphere, the slight breeze, or maybe it’s just me… Whatever it is, it has given me an inspirational whisper…

Makes me think back to the days when the rain subsided and the weather was subdued. It was somewhat of a poetic day, maybe a day for retrospect. Maybe a day for reconciliation. To me the poet and the musician are one. We both express our thoughts the same way, just with another medium. Creativity is sparked and an idea is conveyed, maybe seveal ideas.

It all depends on the day. The winds speak to us differently when we’re not awake.

Synth Dreams is growing!

As I stated in my last blog post, I have continued to grow my “Synth Dreams” album. I now have 10 songs uploaded in total. I am planning on finishing up and uploading several more in the next two weeks. If you haven’t listened to it already, check it out for free on SoundCloud !

Here is my last post about “Synth Dreams”.

Kind of as a joke, something fun to do, I decided to put together a bunch of songs using synth instruments! I figured why not. At Highland, I used the Roland Fantom G8 to record and mix these songs. The album is called Synth Dreams, and I am continually adding to it! I added a few of my Wind Trios and piano scores as well! For the moment it is only available on SoundCloud. You can check it out here : Synth Dreams

I hope you enjoy listening, and please share with your friends! To see the newest at Highland, subscribe to everythingmusic90.com !

Poetry site!

Hello everyone! Hope all has been going well your way. Recently, me and my father set up a poetry website, where you poets can submit your work and read the words of other poets. I will be putting some of my poetry up there as well! It is still in the developing phases, maybe you can be one of the first people to submit! Go check out the site now, and please let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see added to the site! Here’s the link… Www.highlandpoetry.com   submission info and Patrick Sr. “Hazes” will be up for free reading 🙂

Take care my friends!

Good News!

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope you are all doing well. Recently, I have been busy with composing. Both piano solo scores and some fun digital pieces! Now I just have to decide on the perfect names! I will be posting the digital tracks soon on SoundCloud for free listening if you would like to check it out.

Today we just got the last things we needed to put our latest piano solo albums out! Mine, “Looking Through the Rain” and my father’s “Laments, Dreams, and Visions” will be out for sale very soon! Hopefully by this time next week they’ll be on the net. If you want to listen to it before it comes out, that can also be found on SoundCloud.

I am going to put out another Composer’s Life paper later this week. This time it is going to be Bela Bartok, ever heard of him? He was a Hungarian composer, read the short write-up on him to find out more cool and interesting facts! Here’s a link to some Romanian Folk Dances by him, hope you enjoy!

If you didn’t read the last Composer’s Life paper about Domenico Scarlatti, you can find it HERE

And of course, follow on Twitter. Friend on Facebook. Fall on Tumblr. Subscribe to WordPress, ahh this is too confusing!

A la prossima !

New Day

I’m listening to Michael Hedges and getting ready to teach a workshop… its about musical coloring. Cool stuff! He is a big part of my inspiration.

I wrote a song yesterday and im trying to name it. I will hopefully record it in NH if the times are willing. I will make a very bad quality recording of it with my phone ( sorry its all I’ve got 😦 ) and put it on the website. Speaking of music, I just put a music player on the sidebar so look to your left for a few of my dads pieces from “The Poet’s Dream”.

That’s all for today…but share this blog with your friends. I am very excited to be designing and managing my own  website and I want people to see!!! Also follow me on twitter and facebook! I am designing a facebook Highland Artist page and it will be all ready to go soon!

Here’s the links to all these crazy places 🙂

Website Designing!!!

I’ve been working really hard on designing the website before the recording in July. It would help me a BUNCH if you guys just look to the left….there ya go now see the words “5 question survey (its really four)” ? Yes click that !! If you are on a tablet or smartphone it might be in a different place, but you still have to do the 5 ( really four ) question survey!

Thanks for the feedback!
